Day 1 - Arrive Delhi
Met upon arrival in Delhi and transfer to your hotel.
Day 2 - Delhi
Full day visit of Delhi. Exploring the fascinating character of
a capital from the 6th century temple complex with a rust free Iron
Pillar and the Qutab
Minar - tallest structure of the 11th century to the ultra modern
chrome and glass skyscrapers; and from imperial India's Parliament
House and the President's House to the never ending bustle of the
walled city surrounding Jama Mosque. Also visit Humayun's Tomb - the
only monument ever built
by a lady in the memory of her beloved husband.
Day 3 - Delhi/Jaipur
Drive to Jaipur (4.5 hrs) - the present capital of Rajasthan, is
the famed Pink City known for its palaces, three hill forts and a
shopper's paradise. Check in at your hotel. Afternoon at leisure.
Day 4 - Jaipur
Morning excursion to Amber - capital of the old state of
Dhundhar, located on the rugged hills that surround Jaipur. Painted
elephants will take you up the hill to admire the massive gateways,
courts, stairways and pillared pavilions and palaces that recall the
glory and wealth of Amber's association with the Mughals. Afternoon
city sightseeing visiting the City Palace Museum (still houses the
erstwhile Royal family); Jantar Mantar - the Royal Observatory and
Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) - built for the royal ladies to watch
the activities on the market street below without being observed
Day 5 - Jaipur/Agra
Depart for Agra (7 hrs drive) enroute visiting Fatehpur Sikri -
the imperial ruins of the dream capital city of the Great Mughal
Emperor - Akbar.
Day 6 - Agra
Visit Taj Mahal in the morning. Nothing, neither photographs nor
descriptions, can prepare you for the experience of this monument -
the tomb of Mumtaz Mahal called Taj Mahal. Here the cherished
companion of Emperor Shah Jahan was laid to rest. It is an acclaimed
architectural masterpiece and one of the seven wonders of the world.
Afternoon visit Agra Fort and Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daulah also called
Day 7 - Agra/Delhi
Morning free. Depart Agra for Delhi visiting the Tomb of Emperor
Akbar at Sikandra. Check in at Hotel.
Day 8 - Delhi/Corbett
Drive to Corbett National Park. Check in at the resort.
Day 9 - Corbett
Morning and afternoon Safaris to India's first National Park -
Corbett, set up in 1936. It comprises the broad valley of the
Ramganga River covered with tall elephant grass, lantana bushes and
patches of sal and sheesham forest and the slopes of the Himalayan
foothills completely forest covered.
Day 10 - Corbett/Almora
Morning Safari to the National Park. Before noon drive to Almora.
Check in at Kalmatia Sangam Himalaya Resort, located 7 kms above the
town of Almora offering spectacular views of the mighty Himalayas
including the highest (7816 m) and most sacred peak of the region -
Mount Nanda Devi.
Day 11 - Almora
Day at leisure (Optional excursion to Binsar sanctuary,
more famous for its panoramic views).
Day 12 - Almora
Morning excursion to Jageshwar Temple Complex regarded as one of
the most sacred places in Kumaon with temples dating between 8th to
Day 13 - Almora / Kathgodam
Morning drive to Kathgodam Railway station enroute visiting the
beautiful lakes of Sat Tal and Bhimtal. Board the overnight train
Day 14 - Delhi
Arrive Delhi in the morning, met and transferred to the Hotel.
Rest of the day at leisure.
Day 15 - Delhi
Transfer to Airport for your flight back home.
